The Heart of Corvus

When I first started writing The Corvus Crown, I didn't sit down and think, "Let's write a romantasy." In fact, that wasn't the goal at all.

Yes, there's romance. Yes, Rowan and Kaevra have undeniable chemistry throughout the series. And yes, enemies-to-lovers will always have a chokehold on me. But that's not what The Vyrelian Chronicles is truly about.

At its core, this story is about two sisters. Two lives. Two destinies that couldn't be more different, and yet somehow still so similar.

One sister has given everything for her family again and again. Quietly. Fiercely. Without ever expecting anything in return. Her sacrifices are the kind you don't notice until it's far too late. And while I won't spoil her journey, I will say this: there's a point where giving too much of yourself starts to leave cracks. And sometimes those cracks are where the light gets in... or where everything breaks.

The other sister grew up protected, sheltered from truths that could shatter her. She's naive, but not in a weak way. In a way of someone who's never had to question what love costs. Her growth is painful. Slow. And necessary. She will have to learn, in the most brutal of ways, what it truly means to give everything for the people you love.

This isn't a love story.

This is a story of grief.

Of loss that steals your breath and hope that dares to linger.

It's about picking yourself up again and again when fate keeps trying to bury you.

It's about family. It's about pain. It's about finding strength in the ruins.

The Vyrelian Chronicles may wear the feathers of a romantasy, but its bones are carved from something deeper. Something that hurt to write. And something I hope speaks to you, long after you've turned the final page.
